_________________Tia, Ripley and Sofie

Tia is a palomino Arab stockhorse who has belonged to my housemate Minka for many years.

She was joined by Ripley, a bay Thoroughbred in late 2004. Imported from New Zealand as a racehorse, he enjoyed some early success before injury forced his retirement. He was rehabilitated for about 2 years before he came to me. Finding accommodation for two horses was more difficult than for one, and his arrival resulted in a move from a suburban block to further out with some land.

In late 2005 we were joined by Sofie, another Thoroughbred who lived just up the road. Belonging to a girl who had lost interest in her, and whose father had no idea of a horse's needs, she had not been ridden in almost 14 years. She needed to put on some condition, but once she did, she proved herself to be very sound, and pretty much bomb proof.

The horses are quite happy in their little pack. More photos of them can be found on the Gallery page.
