Tor AD HIT
Tor came from an animal shelter at about 4 months of age in November 1995, complete with Garfield stuffed toy. She was named Tornado because after I drove home and let her out in the backyard, she looked around as if she couldn't believe it, then started racing round in circles. Since then, she has hardly stopped, but over the years she has begun to take some things at a more leisurely pace. She has mellowed and become a delightful, loving little dog when it suits her.
Tor's puppy photos came with her from the animal shelter and can be viewed in her gallery. She looks very cute but was a typical pup, which combined with her high Kelpie energy, is the likely reason for her ending up there.
For her entire life she has suffered from BOCD (ball obsessive compulsive disorder) which takes up part of each and every day.
She enjoys anything physical. Having started trialling in agility, she also loves herding whenever the opportunity presents itself. Tor gained her novice agility title in February 2002 and has 2 passes at Herding Instinct Tests, one conducted in November 2001 and the second in May 2002. Not having the opportunity to work on sheep from then until late 2006, Tor swung into action as though she'd never had a break from it. Knowing how it should be done, she was unimpressed with sheep who bunched together and didn't move, but she has a plan of action for that. You bounce at them and bark, and they run somewhere else so you can herd them around. Tor also enjoys duck-terrorising, although she's not as quick now as she used to be. Where previously she would run and run just because she could, now you can see her weighing up whether it's really worth her effort... or whether she can just stand and bark, which seems to achieve about the same level of enjoyment. Check out some agility pics and results, and also some herding photos.
Tor has also discovered the joy of dams. She rarely swims, but will happily paddle around at the edge, especially on hot days. There are lots of dam pics in the gallery pages. If you have any questions about Tor, please email me. Photo Credits: All shots taken by Leonora |
